San Pietro in Castello (facade)

The façade of the church of San Pietro in Castello, begun in 1558, was Palladio’s first work in Venice. Most notably, it features Palladio’s “key theme of the relationship between a large order (corresponding to the nave) and a small order (corresponding to the aisles), effectively introduced in the church of San Francesco della Vigna a few years later.”
