Loggia del Capitaniato
The Loggia del Capitaniato was constructed in 1572 and is composed of elements that are characteristic of Palladio’s late career. Here one recognizes “the use of the giant order and th[e] decorative richness [as] typical features of Palladio’s language in the last decade of his life.” (Beltramini, pp. 77, 78) The building presents a “momumental façade to the plazza.” (Reed, p. 47)
